Can you choke on a video? I almost did watching this piece of AEA propaganda.

“While universities sit on their stockpiles of cash and the loan industry generates record profits, the pain of living in debilitating debt for many lasts into retirement.” — Matt Taibbi (read full story here)

“Why the benefits are worth spending $200,000 (direct costs) on an Econ degree” might be the better title to this AEA propaganda video aimed at unsuspecting undergrads. Yeah, this goes on everywhere today when it comes to marketing. Still, it is something anyone with a seasoned understanding of the real agenda of Econ departments, the AEA and their not so visible tethering to business interests, would vomit watching.

Excerpt from the AEA video caption:

Much more than finance, banking, business and government, a degree in economics is useful to all individuals and can lead to many interesting career choices. These four diverse individuals offer their insights on how a background in economics can be a tool for solving very human problems.

Right, but caveat emptor (buyer beware). Read Matt Taibbi’s piece about taking on truck loads of heavy debt and the lifelong burden it may pose. Remember, you can never discharge student loan debt through bankruptcy, and the government will find you! And are you even getting your money’s worth in terms the product? Does your Econ degree come with a product warranty? Are you sure it is not defective? ~JS
